Amanda and Ryan’s Summer Vineyard Wedding by Lexington Wedding Photographer Brandi Potter
There are so many photos and moments from Amanda and Ryan’s wedding that I want to share. There was just so much love and authentic, natural moments that day. It was everything I want my weddings to be. I wasn’t handed a shot list or sent a pinterest board, and I was trusted to do my job.
Being completely trusted on a wedding day is the most amazing feeling. Not having a million “MUST HAVE PHOTOS” from pinterest sent to me, or pages and pages of shot lists handed to me when I walk in is the best. Trust me (or whoever it is you’ve hired) to do what they do. You shouldn’t have hired them to have them copy another wedding photographer. You definitely shouldn’t hire someone if you don’t trust them to do a good job either. There is absolutely no way I can perfectly replicate another photo, and I won’t even attempt it. If I feel like I’m having people tell me what to do throughout the day my creativity is stifled, and that’s not good for anyone.
Also, Amanda and Ryan gave me time with them. First, during the first look and then later in the day when the light was amazing. It’s so nice having clients that appreciate the photos enough to want the better light and to make time for that. I feel like some of the best photos I’ve ever taken were that evening, and I wish everyone considered letting me drag them away from the reception for 20 or 30 minutes. Your guests shouldn’t mind and if they do IT’S YOUR WEDDING. Remember that if you’re planning or have a wedding quickly approaching.
But enough of my preaching, and on to the photos. If you have spotify press play, photos are always better with music.
