Industrial Chicago Wedding by Seattle Wedding Photographer Brandi Potter
Back in April I drove up to Chicago to meet my friend Dan to second shoot for him. I always love shooting with him, because we basically both have the same shooting style. Both of us are extremely laid back and calm during weddings, which is always a plus to hiring either one of us. I’ve always said that having the ability to handle stress and stay calm is one of the most important aspects to this job. If something is going wrong, then there is NO reason for me to flip out or stress out my couple. This is why I shoot with dual cameras and multiple lenses, so if something does go wrong with my equipment I’m able to pretend like nothing happened.
It’s also really nice being calm when things go wrong with other vendors. I feel like I’m able to calm my couples down and deal with the situation so that whatever it is can be fixed. I DO NOT want there to be a meltdown the day of a wedding, and I’ll do everything in my power to prevent that from happening. This is one of the reasons it’s so important to click with the vendors you hire. You’re going to be spending a lot of time with us, and you should DEFINITELY make sure you vibe with us in a way that won’t add stress to your day.
