Lindsey and Ryan’s Red River Gorge Wedding by Los Angeles Wedding Photographer Brandi Potter
Lindsey and Ryan actually live in Chicago but decided that having their wedding 6 hours away in the Red River Gorge was better than doing it in the city. As far as destinations go I would say they picked a pretty damn good one. The Gorge is one of my favorite places to be and to shoot, so it’s really a treat for me when I get to do both. It’s also so satisfying when I really click with a couple and it makes the day that much better. I have to say that these two are pretty damn cool and I really hope that we can all eventually run into one another again.
They had so many cool details at their wedding. A professor of hers made the blue necklace for her. I may be wrong, but I think the same person made the rug they stood on for the ceremony as well. They bought a bunch of different florals (loving all the proteas) and put together all of the bridesmaids and moms bouquets. Lindsey’s bouquet is literally the biggest I’ve ever seen and the most fun. Her dress was also amazing and nothing like what I’ve seen before. Ryan wore the coolest little bolo tie that matched the necklace Lindsey wore at the reception, and this isn’t even half of the stuff that they did. Like seriously, how they were able to bring everything together when they lived so far away is impressing.
So please future clients, be super cool and have a lot of really cool and personal details to your wedding. It makes things so much easier and more unique than just grabbing a bunch of burlap and mason jars with roses. I’ll probably eventually do a post about planning for the small details soon, but until then enjoy all of the ones in their wedding.
