Lorel and Zach’s (fake) Styled Wedding Portraits by Los Angeles Wedding Photographer Brandi Potter
Last year when I decided to branch out on my own, and do my own thing, I didn’t have a portfolio I could show to couples. I decided to put together a styled shoot with a friend so that I could have something that I was proud of, and that reflected my style, and the type of weddings I was hoping to book. This session has been one of my favorite sessions I’ve ever done. Not only was I in full control of it, but it was fun, and I didn’t walk away feeling frustrated afterwards, like I had been up until that point.
I knew Lorel from instagram, and I saw Zach at a coffee shop and decided he was perfect for the role of “fake husband”, and had a more outspoken friend ask him if he would be interested in modeling. These two literally met 30 minutes (if that) before our shoot started, which made everything incredibly awkward. They laughed a lot, because I’m sure they both felt ridiculous, but I’m happy that they went along with everything I asked of them.
