Karrah Kobus Workshop in Minnesota by Los Angeles Wedding Photographer Brandi Potter
Let me preface this by mentioning that I attended this workshop in July of 2014. Things for me were a lot different then, and this workshop is really the reason I am where I am. I started following Karrah a couple of years ago when a local photographer had her wedding shot by her, and I was in love from the moment I saw those photos. I don’t think there has ever been a photo that I’ve seen by her that I haven’t loved, and I’m normally a very picky person when it comes to what I like/don’t like in photography.
When she posted that she was having a new wedding workshop and that we would be camping in Minnesota I immediately emailed her. That was the best decision of my career thus far. Not only did I get to see a part of the country I hadn’t seen before (Hello Wisconsin, you’re my favorite), things for me clicked. I realized that the direction I was headed in, was not right for me at all, and that things needed to change. I’m not going to go into all of the details but my photography really grew into something that I enjoyed. Up to that point I was completely burned out on weddings, I really wanted nothing to do with them, and even after the workshop I flip flopped back and forth on that issue. When I booked my first wedding on my own I cried, because I knew that weddings, with the right clients, were what I needed to be doing.
So, thank you so much Karrah for the workshop, and thank you for helping shape me into what I am. If you guys are looking for styled wedding workshops and help with posing, follow her. She does one on one mentoring as well, which I’m planning to do as soon as I can.
