Jillian and Josh’s San Bernardino Anniversary Session by Destination Wedding Photographer Brandi Potter
I met Jillian and Josh back in 2014 at a wedding. They were doing the video as I and a friend were doing photo. It was the first time I had worked with videographers and I was extremely nervous that I would get in their way or we wouldn’t get along. I was wrong about both things. Jillian quickly became one of my best friends, and that year my friend and I did their first anniversary photos. I’ve done them the past two years alone, and it’s a tradition I don’t see changing anytime soon.
Unfortunately for me they moved to Los Angeles last fall so the commute is a bit farther, but we make it work. When I booked a wedding in San Diego I booked a plane ticket to fly into LAX so I could stay with them for a couple of days before heading down to photograph the wedding.
They took me up to Wrightwood CA, which I want to move to, and then we drove around San Bernardino County in the mountains to take their photos. It was SO BEAUTIFUL. I have never been more in awe of a landscape, and even though I had been to LA several times before I had never gone north to see the mountains. I highly suggest everyone go. It was the most beautiful drive and one of the best days of my trip. I’ll be posting normal trip photos in a couple of weeks, but their anniversary photos will just have to hold you over until then.
P.S. This is Jillian’s favorite song.
