Joshua Tree Engagement Session by Seattle Wedding Photographer Brandi Potter
This was my first time in Joshua Tree and I can finally see the appeal of it. I’m a huge fan of the desert but never really understood why people flock to this park constantly, or why it’s such a big deal in the photo community. WELL I GET IT NOW. Seth and Kaiti let me shoot this session with them, and it was so so beautiful. The light at sunset was the most perfect type of light ever, and I don’t think I’ll ever get over how much better it is on the West Coast. I’m already dying to go back to shoot a bit longer.
It was so much fun getting to see how Seth and Kaiti work together as well. I also love how they pose and I honestly learned a lot about bringing more intimacy into my images from them. It’s so nice being able to take a step back sometimes and just watch people for a moment, and I highly suggest that if you’re a photographer you ask a friend if you can accompany them on a shoot. You never know what you could learn from them.
Also, it was great getting to spend an entire week with Seth. He’s a sweet baby angel and I don’t know where I would be in life without him. He’s also really fun to annoy by saying Jershua Tree over and over again so if you know him you should definitely do that.
