Rachel and Tex’s Old Friends Farm Wedding by Louisville Wedding Photographer Brandi Potter
Back in August Rachel and Tex tied the knot on a really unique farm. Old Friend’s Farm is a farm in Central Kentucky that takes in retired thoroughbreds when they’re done racing and being stud horses. They have some really amazing horses out there that include a couple of Kentucky Derby winners and Preakness winners. They also saved a mini horse (they still say he’s a stallion) from a slaughter truck years and years ago that is basically their mascot. I kept calling him lil’ Sebastian all day, but he’s actually named after one of their derby winners (Silver Star) and is dubbed lil’ Silver Star. Oh, and he was the ring bearer so that’s pretty cool.
I have to say that Rachel and Tex have this connection I don’t know if I’ve ever seen before. They are literally and figuratively perfect for one another. They both wrote letters to one another for the first look, and both of them included E.E. Cummings poems. They couldn’t really take their eyes off one another either. The whole day was perfect and being able to be there and be part of it means so much to me. I could go on and on about their day but I don’t want to have a 10,000 word essay on the blog post.
