The Why

I asked some of my clients to pick out their favorite photos from their wedding, and to tell me why. This is why it’s important to have a photographer at your wedding. This is why it’s important to have someone that aligns with your own style. And this is why I’m a wedding photographer.

Rachel & Tex

The wedding party recessional was set to an upbeat banjo tune. I (Tex) still remember the unbridled release I felt when the music started up and we skipped down the aisle. You can practically see us bouncing off the ground in this photo--every time I look at it, I relive the joy of that moment.

For me (Tex), the photos you took of the two of us out on the farm are my favorites; every single one made our jaws drop. I loved taking those photos because you knew how to help us forget we were being photographed. Here, you didn't set this up, you just told to pick Rachel up off the ground and swing her around. I didn't even stop to about what I was doing, and I couldn't be happier with the result.

I (Rachel) am so grateful to have this photo, which perfectly captures the tenderness and love in the father-daughter dance. I can't wait to frame this for my dad; it was such a special moment for both of us, and this photo shows that beautifully.

In nearly every photo you took, the details--the lighting, the framing--coalesce to remind us exactly what made each moment special. Here, we were so wrapped up in each other, but by capturing the crowd around us, you made all the people at our wedding a part of the story too. We are so humbled they traveled from all over to be with us.
